Meet the Residents

Meet SALLY GRIPPE

It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas as Managing Member Vince Paragano welcomed Sally Grippe as our first Assisted Living resident on December 8, 2003.

Sally was a native of Philadelphia. She moved to Greenwich Village in her 30’s. She enjoyed the theater, shopping, and people for the next 50 years! Living right on Sheridan Square, one of her fondest memories is of the yearly Greenwich Village Halloween Parade with its extravagant costumes and crowds.

Sally worked as a manager in an accounting department well into her 80’s. When her company moved to Staten Island, she decided it was finally time to retire and move closer to her relatives who had settled in northwest New Jersey.

With her spunky attitude and easy laugh Sally quickly discovered Paragon Village was the right choice for her. She says her apartment is just the right size, the staff are all very helpful and pleasant, and the food is excellent. But, most of all, Sally loves all her new friends and the variety of activities at Paragon Village.

If you are looking for Assisted Living for yourself or a loved one, why not contact Paragon Village today. Just like Sally, you’ll discover that Paragon Village is truly Senior Living Perfected.

Meet ROSE DELL'ARMO

92 years young Rose Dell’Armo left her apartment of 39 years in the Bronx to live closer to her daughter Mary Ann. Widowed 16 years ago Rose’s family worried about her being so far away and living alone. Her daughter Mary Ann found Paragon Village while it was still in its construction phase and quickly realized this would be the ideal spot for her mom. Mary Ann can’t be happier to have her mom so close to her and so happy. It is now a breeze for Mary Ann to pick her mom up and include her in family activities. With 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grand’s Rose is truly the matriarch of a loving family.

As our first resident Rose has been the unofficial greeter for all our residents. We think of Rose as our Goodwill Ambassador” as like she says she “talks to everyone” and within an hour of meeting Rose she has made another “best friend”. Rose says Paragon Village is the nicest place she ever lived and after one week she forgot all about her life in the Bronx as this was “home”. She loves all the parties and tries to attend as many of the activities and get-togethers that she can.

One of the things Rose especially likes is the staff, she says everything she asks for is done for her, and that everyone makes her feel comfortable. Rose especially likes that she feels safe and that she can trust everyone. She feels “being together” is important at any age but especially now she enjoys the company of so many nice people. She can’t get over how friendly everyone is.

Another thing Rose loves is the food. The dining staff at Paragon Village goes out of its way to make sure everyone has their food cooked to order and that a nice selection is always available. The wait staff greets everyone by name and Rose says she loves to have her meals surrounded by friends.

The staff of Paragon Village is delighted to have Rose as our first resident. This little “fire-plug” can make anyone’s day brighter!

Come Visit Paragon Village and meet Rose! Discover why she and so many others have found Paragon Village to be “The Best Place I Ever Lived”!

Meet PATSY CALDAROLA

“Poppa” is a name that makes Patsy Caldarola’s eyes light up, as it is what his three beloved grandchildren call him. Living in Brick just a mile from the beach is something this retired truck driver loved, but it meant seeing his only son and grandchildren on an infrequent basis. When Patsy’s son Maurice suggested he move closer to him Patsy was all for it, but did not want to be a burden to Maurice and daughter-in-law Colleen. While Patsy describes Maurice as being “Top of the Line” he knew that living together wouldn’t be good for either of them.

Maurice suggested looking at Paragon Village and one visit was all it took to sell Patsy on the idea of living close to his son while still retaining his independence. Patsy is able to enjoy frequent visits with Maurice but still maintain an active roster of friends and activities with his peers. He was thrilled to find other residents who had come from his hometown of Hoboken to share stories of the good old days with.

Patsy especially likes that he is able to participate in his grandchildren’s activities and being close allowed him to see grandson’s Billy and his baseball team the Angels win his town league championship. A devoted follower of the Mets, Patsy is thrilled to see this up and coming young ball player develop. Clare and Caroline are excited that Poppa can see them perform in school assemblies and spend holidays and other special occasions with them.

Some of the amenities that Patsy finds especially helpful include weekly apartment cleaning and daily trash removal. He takes advantage of the transportation service to go grocery shopping, and looks forward each evening to dining with his friends. He especially likes the fresh Talapia with Citrus Beurre Blanc Sauce prepared by our Director of Dining Services Vinnie DeNicola.

Patsy says he has never lived so well and hopes to live another 25 years to enjoy everything Paragon Village has to offer.

Patsy loves Paragon Village and you will too! Stop by and meet our residents. You too will see how Senior Living has been Perfected!
